This is JASON FYLES and he goes to my university (Newcastle University, North East of England) He is 19 years old, 5’8, ginger hair and slim. He was last seen in the Sandyford area at 2:45am on Thursday morning and has not been seen since. He was wearing a blue shirt, grey cardigan, beige chinos and brown ankle boots. Everyone in uni is so worried about him along with his family and friends. We are coming together as a university to appeal for his safe return. It is thought that he lost his friends on the night out and tried to make his way back by himself. Please, I am begging for you to REBLOG THIS, even if you don’t live in Newcastle, or England. Every REBLOG means that someone else will see his face, they will know who we are looking for, and your followers could be the one to know his whereabouts. Stay safe Jason, we’re looking for you.

PLEASE. Nobody reblogged my own post on this which I posted an hour or so ago so I’m wondering if nobody will now. This guy is my friend. If I have ever sent you a nice ask or reblogged something of yours and it made you happy for a second (or even if I haven’t; this is about helping him, not doing me a favour) for God’s sake just help now, help to find my friend Jason. You want me to make him human to you?

Once we all grew beans in pots as part of a Biology experiment- the experiment failed miserably and made the whole lab stink, but his was the only bean that grew and he was actually pretty proud about it

He learned to knit as part of a school project where he had to learn a creative skill, and when a couple of people teased him about it he said “gender is a social construct” and carried on knitting like a badass

He loves the scene in The Great Gatsby where Gatsby throws all his silk shirts around and he and I used to giggle over it together

Once I asked him if he had a string of tinsel I could use in a photoshoot and he brought me a big cardboard box full of tinsel and fairy lights because he’s a helpful and lovely guy

He’s HUMAN and he needs our HELP and just PLEASE PLEASE FUCKING REBLOG THIS??? He’s been missing for four days now- when he went missing he would have been wearing his contact lenses and he won’t have had his (very thick) glasses with him so by now he’ll have had to take his contacts out and throw them away and he won’t be able to see well and oh God just please signal boost this

I wasn’t expecting such a lovely thing, and I’m just over the moon to have been thought of. It’s signed by some of the cast and everything! It’s wonderful seeing up close the skill with which my art was transformed into this thing of awesome!

But to sum up, I created a comic adaptation of the play for my final major project at university two years ago, and finally decided to release it online for everybody! There’s a cast list as a guide, three parts to the comic that will be uploaded a page a day, and also I’ll upload a bunch of the concept drawings and sketches for you to check out.

Enjoy reading each page as it updates, favourite on smackjeeves or bookmark it, and tell your friends! Especially your Shakespeare/comic loving friends, those would be best to tell, yup.

I can finally state a date, actually! According to Penguin, the expected date is February next year. I know it’s a little bit of a wait for all of us, but publishing schedules require a lot of planning and rely on windows. On the plus side, I’ve seen a sneak peek of the cover design and it’s looking gorgeous! ^_^

Ahhh thanks for posting this, Emma!!! Was a bit worried my Jane would be too pale in that yellow but it don’t look too bad! It’s so nuts to see them at this size, oh my god! We gotta get pix of us gurning away in front of them! I wanna get a pic of me next to Little Richard, I love how you drew him so much, he looks like a beautiful little doll, argh, argh arghakljdaklsjdasd <3 Are you gonna put up your pics as separates? This was an amazing project to work on, and we all had a lot of fun researching the little history snippets and working together. I can now tell the difference between all the royal guards!!!!! 8D Thanks so much to Paul for his work on figuring out the printing side of things and Professor Layton-ing them all together like this with such pretty designs. I expect we’ll all be making numerous trips to the TOL in the next six months (UNADULTERATED SHRIEKS OF PURE JOY), so there’s sure to be more pics. As Emma says, if you wanna visit the Tower this summer you should totes get pics of yourselves next to our dudes and ladies and send them to us!!! x

Thank you all so much for the enthusiastic responses. this is, as Mr Cornell said (and squee thank you, btw!), a fab way to share come comic art with the world. We’re also total nerds over this stuff, so we were excited. But seeing other people as excited too is fantastic. Thank you all! ^__^

And squeee, such a good idea, Kate! yeah, guys! If you get to the Tower, take pics of yourselves with the characters, as I have no doubt at all that we’ll be doing so soon, haha…it would be so cool to build up a collection of photos of people interacting with the illustrations XD You can be patting Jane Grey on the back, telling Richard III you believe in him, running away from angry peasants…all sorts! hehe. *geeks out*

I love your Vampire Academy graphic novels and I can't wait for Shadow Kiss, with all the snippets you've been showing makes us fans so happy! Squeee, we can finally share this with the world! (well, I’ll post something later to share with the rest of the world who are still asleep, but for now….YOU GUYS, YES, YOU - CHECK THIS OUT! ^_^)

So, myself, Kate Brown and Paul Duffield have been doing a little work with the Tower of London. Yes, the Tower of London! If you’re half as much of a history nerd as we are, you’ll know how exciting that’s been for us. The scaffolding shown in the photo just went up this week. We chose a few key moments/characters from the Tower’s history for the project. Kate and I illustrated and coloured a few scenes each, while Paul pulled it all together and added design elements with the amazing arches. And the Tower have printed them up onto the scaffolding hoarding. Life sized, baby!

(and yes, all you Richard fans, that there is a life-sized Richard III - just for you <3)

The scaffolding will be up for a good few months. So if you’re planning a visit, enjoy! ^_^
