Emma Vieceli's Inky Tasty

I'm a comicker based in Cambridge, England. This is a for-fun account, so expect a little work and a little play. To find out more about me, head to: www.emmavieceli.com
Here’s a special late-nighter (for my working day anyways) for you Vampire Academy peeps, (or anyone, for that matter, haha) ^_^
What could be going on here? It’s all gone intense suddenly. Isn’t Dimitri meant to be a gentleman? ^_~(Be careful not to write spoilers, those of you who do know what’s going on!)

Sometimes I really wonder at myself…
(I never actually say what game it is, though my editor asked me to. I figured if you’d played it, you’d know exactly what I was talking about. If you hadn’t? Well, mentioning the game title probably wouldn’t  help you get the joke anyway.)

Hehe, you devious genius ^_^

Busy, busy, busy. Where to start? Okay, so today’s task is to continue inking Shadow Kiss, book three in the Vampire Academy graphic novel series.
It’s all moving along nicely now, but if you want to keep up with snippets and news on VA and my other projects, check out my shiny new…

Very much looking forward to Expo! And getting my hands on Avalon 2!

Thanks so much for reblogging…all news-spreading is hugely appreciated! *hug*

And Whoop! *hi five* it’s gonna be great. So glad you’re able to help me out again, hon. ^_^

Next up: I rather excitingly got some special advance copies of Avalon #2 through from the wonderful Oni Press yesterday! It’s due for official release in July, but these special copies mean that I’m able to sell a limited number of the book at some upcoming conventions while stock lasts. It’s super shiny and gorgeous~! =^_^= So, where can you find me to get an early copy?
First up is the MCM in London, in just a couple of weeks. I always have a blast at this show. ^_^
And hot on Expo’s tail is the fabulous 2D in Derry. Such a friendly show and I can’t wait to get back there again. Also in that banner is mention of thebrand new Lakes festival in Kendal! I mention it because news has just been released, and I’m excited about being part of the curated Comics Clocktower in this new and awesome-sounding event.
Last, but not least, I was a good half-way through penciling Alex Rider: Scorpia at the point when I switched back to finish up on Shadow Kiss, and I can’t wait to share this new chapter in Alex’s comic-life with you all. I’ve been blown away by Anthony Horowitz’s response to my new designs and Antony Johnston’s script is a great adaptation! I’ll be back to Alex when inks on Shadow Kiss are done. ^_^
Blimey. I think my poor brain needs a spring-clean ^_~

Ultraviolet light reveals how ancient Greek statues really looked

stripeydani:

So awesome to see these :D

I’m always fascinated by the modern construct we’ve built of how ancient cultures looked; the austere, ethereal and hauntingly bare stone of buildings and statues…and then we get a chance like this to remind ourselves that what we’ve imagined is a world that never was. (though it’s an imagined world I kind of love.) I imagine those sculptors being like me after lineart. “Oh, does it really neeeeed colour? I kind of like it without. Oh, okay then…oh, bums, now look what I’ve done!” XD

And here we go, finally finished and it turned out better than I’d hoped!

Available for purchase at my Etsy store, as well as my society6 shirts!

Trying out a new thing with Etsy’s digital downloads- which I thought was an uncanny way to get rid of shipping costs and make things cheap!  This way, if your print gets ruined you could print yourself another one. (but no redistribution please. xD)

Society6 has been giving me a lot of crap, so in order to make this into a shirt I had to commandeer one of my other listings.  Hopefully things get panned out soon. >.<

And please keep in mind I am open for commission!

Thanks everyone!

This came out stunningly. Amazing work! ^_^

Testing out my pens ready for con sketches at Japanorama this weekend. *happy sigh* Was only testing ink levels, but found myself in a happy place for a few minutes. Pentel brush pen has a new cartridge. Mmmmm, silky. Man, one day I’ll do a whole comic with ink on paper again.
Also: wow. Copic markers haven’t been touched in YEARS as I normally pull out my letraset trias when I need a marker (rarely), but they are still nearly all useable. Impressive!
